The First Annual Natural Vision Improvement Symposium was a roaring success - November 20 - 21, 1999 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, sponsored by Old Dominion University.   About 200 people attended, hearing experts from all over the USA, Canada, England and even Australia talk about their experiences and techniques for improving eyesight.

Conditions from near and farsightedness, astigmatism, through retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, and cataracts were discussed. Keynote speakers were Meir Schneider (who was born blind, but now sees well enough to drive a car legally), Roberto Kaplan, Grace Halloran, and Peter Mansfield.

It was the beginning of the Association of Vision Educators, both the organization and the website. We had 14 founding members. See how we've grown!
